Guidelines for Students

GENERAL RULES

  • All communications should be addressed to the Principal.
  • Students absent on a particular day must state the reason for absence in the school diary, duly signed by their parent. If absent for more than 2 days, an application (duly signed by the parents) should be submitted to the class teacher. In case of sickness, a proper medical certificate should be submitted.
  • Students must communicate with their teachers, friends, and others in English only, which is the medium of instruction of the school.
  • Students must move from one place to another in an orderly manner.
  • Students should line up properly to board the buses and should not board or alight from a moving bus.
  • No whistling, shouting, or running in the classrooms and corridors of the school building is allowed.
  • All students must take utmost care in keeping the campus clean. Dustbins are to be used for throwing waste material.
  • All students must bring only vegetarian dishes for tiffin. Non-vegetarian dishes are strictly prohibited.
  • No student is allowed to scratch or spoil benches, walls, library books, or damage any school property. Any damage done will be made good by the concerned student.
  • Students who come to school on their own or on bicycles should arrive five minutes before the first bell. The bicycles must be locked and parked properly to avoid congestion.

Discipline

  • Students must be punctual to school. If they are late for the third time, they will not be allowed to attend classes.
  • Students should not stand near the school gate without any purpose. As long as they are in their school uniform, they should not be found loitering about as they bear the name of the school. They are also not allowed to bring friends from outside without any reason.
  • Taking intoxicants is strictly prohibited. Disciplinary action will be taken if any student is caught doing so.
  • Ganging up, groupism or intimidation will not be tolerated. If a student is caught indulging in such activities, he/she will be expelled immediately.
  • The school reserves the right, without assigning any reason, to expel a student if it is considered to be in the interest of the school.
  • Bringing any undesirable articles (crackers, colours etc.) inside the school campus is strictly prohibited. If anybody is found with these things in the school, he/she will be expelled from the school.
  • Students should be polite and remain disciplined wherever they go. They should always remember that their school is judged by their conduct. Good behaviour brings a good name to the school.

Request To Parents

  • Parents must make sure that their wards attend school regularly and reach home in time after school.
  • You are requested to attend the parent-teacher meetings to know the progress of your ward as per the calendar of the school.
  • You must ensure that your ward does not ride a scooter/motor cycle or drive a car to school because he/she is below eighteen and cannot possess a valid driving licence.
  • You are always welcome to put forth your positive suggestions or complaints for the improvement of the school. You are requested not to criticise any teacher in the presence of your ward.
  • Encourage your ward to converse in English at home too. Let him/her watch only useful programmes on T.V. Don’t let television become an obsession.
  • Please intimate in writing to the Principal/Headmistress any change of address or telephone number immediately.
  • Please make sure that your ward's books and notebooks are well maintained and are carried according to the time table every day.
  • In case you notice that your child is not able to follow the lessons or is not assigned homework for a certain time period, contact the Principal/Headmistress to enable him/her to make up the loss.
  • Special classes and remedial teaching for the weaker students are arranged in the school.
  • Visitors or parents are not allowed to meet any child during school hours without the permission of the Principal/Headmistress. Parents should in no case try to go up to the classrooms.
  • You are requested to drop and pick up your ward from the school premises or the stoppage on time. Parents of the students of the Junior section (Nur-III) who come to pick up their wards must carry the gate pass every day.
  • No phone calls are entertained. In case of an emergency, the message will be conveyed to the student, through the receptionist of the school.
  • Please do not send your ward with valuable ornaments, mobile phones or any electronic gadgets. If these things are brought to school, disciplinary action will be taken.

Attendance Guidelines

  • In order to appear in the annual examination, it is the sole responsibility of parents/guardians to ensure that students maintain a minimum of 75% attendance every month.
  • The monthly attendance record provided in the diary must be acknowledged and duly signed by the parents/guardians.
  • Students of classes X and XII are specifically instructed to attend classes regularly as per the C.B.S.E. resolution, otherwise they will not be allowed to fill up the application form for the C.B.S.E. final examination.
  • Absentees are strictly dealt with. Students are not allowed to leave before school hours are over.
  • Outstation leave is generally not granted. In case of an emergency, parents/guardians must come personally with an application seeking leave for their wards.
  • If a student remains absent for 6 days or more than that (consecutive absence) without prior information and sanction of leave, then his/her name will be struck off the rolls, without serving any notice. He/she will be allowed to attend classes only after re-admission with the permission of the Principal/Headmistress as per the rules of the school.
  • Attendance is compulsory on the last working day before every vacation and on the first working day after the vacation.
